PAST EVENTS

FIRST RESPONDER TOURNAMENT

On Friday evening, we hosted our First Responder Tournament, which brought together First Responders and club members. We appreciate the contributions of all participating club members, Donn Diercks for organizing the tournament, Jim Wheat for his recruitment efforts, and Sandy and Butch Spaulding for hosting.

We are deeply grateful for the invaluable service provided by all First Responders to our community and look forward to their future participation.


 

CARE AND SHARE

In December, we celebrated Care and Share by donating items for each of the first 12 days of the month. You brought your items and added them to the Care and Share Bin. Thanks for sharing your bounty with those who are less fortunate!

WHAT’S NEW

NEW WEBSITE

New updated website.


NEW ERNE BALL MACHINE

ERNE, our new pickleball machine, is here. This is one of the best pickleball practice machines on the market. To rent ERNE, you must complete a Read & Watch Orientation form. The forms can be found at the front desk, or you can attend a live demonstration and sign your form after that. Our next live demonstration is Saturday, Dec 21 at 3pm.

Thank you Jim Callahan for helping CBAPB transition to our new machine.

OUR MISSION

The Council Bluffs Pickleball Association is dedicated to promoting the sport of pickleball through inclusive participation, community engagement, and skill development. We strive to foster a welcoming environment where players of all ages and abilities can enjoy the game, build friendships, and enhance their physical well-being.

Key Elements of the Mission Statement:

  • Inclusivity: Emphasizes welcoming players of all skill levels.

  • Physical, Mental and Social Well-Being: Recognizes the health and social benefits associated with participating in pickleball.

  • Skill Development: Focuses on improving players’ skills and enjoyment of the game.

  • Community Engagement: Highlights the importance of community involvement and connection. Using the facility and inviting the membership base to support community initiatives through pickleball play.

This mission statement not only defines the CBAPB’s purpose, but also serves as a guiding principle for our activities and initiatives, ensuring alignment with our core values and objectives.

PLAY WITH RESPECT

  • Treat all players, referees, and spectators with kindness.

  • Hosts and staff are all volunteers and deserve our respect.

  • Celebrate good plays, regardless of the team.

UPCOMING EVENTS

DINK IN THE NEW YEAR

Tuesday, December 31, 9 PM-1 AM

Join us for a round robin tourney from 9:30-11:30PM as we dink in the New Year!


REMINDER

Renew your membership BEFORE January 1st and you are eligible to purchase a punch card half price with purchase of an additional card. The $75 bundle includes yearly membership and two punch cards.  Non-member pricing increased to $8 per session starting now.

A few items that were discussed at our monthly board meeting:

  • Approved new club software

  • Approved new website

  • Approved refined Mission Statement

  • Working on Host communication plan

  • Reviewed Financials:  Conclusion- Good Shape for future plans

  • Tweaked court rental structure

  • Mapping out 2025 working budget
